It was a truly amazing experience. Thank you everybody I met at Djerassi. Last but not least, thank you very much Dr. Carl Djerassi for founding this amazing residence program.

Today was our last dinner in Djerassi. Tomorrow everybody is leaving.

Rebecca is a ballet dancer from South Carolina. Rebecca and Luciano are my morning coffee buddies. It’s sad that we can no longer start a day with espresso together in the beautiful mountain.

There is an old barn in the Ranch. No electricity, no water, sort of abandoned place. But the inside is renovated and all natural lighting makes it very special. I very much enjoyed watching a performance by Folawole, Rebecca, and LizAnne choreographed by Folawole .

Also I finally made it to the Alice’s restaurant. Sort of a famous biker’s place in Bay area.

Today we had a birthday party for Thu. Folawole and Rebecca cooked great dinner and Kathryn baked cup cakes and Kristofer brought an apple pie. Good stuff.

Oh and I made a little birthday card. Thu, I made a small lie. I told you the paper is hand made out of the branches I found in the ranch. It’s not excatly true. But I think it’s good to make a small lie sometimes to make our lives fun. I hope Thu won’t read this post.

We went to a big hike today. Pretty much the same route that Skip drove us the other day, but this time by walk.

This wooden chair sits on top of the hill. “Supposedly” Hillary Clinton spent a lot of time on sitting on this chair, by looking the view and thinking stuff when Monica Lewinsky scandal happened.

“My fellow nerds and I will retire to the nerdery with our calculators”.

Skip gave us another tour, but this time by his pick up track.

Dan is chef of Djerrasi. He cooks dinner for us on weekdays. As far as I remember, he never repeats the same recipe for the last 4 weeks. And all great  not to mention.

My best friend from middle school is having a wedding in October so I made a little card with pine wood leaves that I found in the ranch. It spells おめでと (O-me-de-to), congratulations in Japanese. Congratulations Kensuke and Taeko!!
