Shadow puppet - Takashi's Seasons

Takashi's Seasons - A Live Shadow Puppet Performance

"Takashi’s Seasons" is a live sequential shadow puppet and video performance interpreting the four seasons of Japan, each displayed through a distinct scene. In spring, children head back to school, their backpacks signaling the start of the academic year. Summer evenings resonate with the rhythmic songs of cicadas. Dragonflies glide effortlessly in the crisp autumn air. And as winter descends, the resonant chimes of temple bells echo on New Year’s Eve.

This project was a collaboration between myself, Togo Kida, and Yoshimasa Niwa.
